Frequently Asked Questions
No. StreamVector is designed specifically for school and community gyms with captive portals or zero Wi-Fi. Phone A hosts a direct Apple Network socket (or Personal Hotspot), allowing Phone B to connect directly peer-to-peer with sub-50ms latency. No internet is consumed between the two phones.
This is a deliberate architectural feature. In a gymnasium, two phones capturing audio simultaneously create severe acoustic delay, feedback loops, and hollow comb-filtering echoes. StreamVector routes 100% of the live match audio and commentary through Phone A (Director), keeping Phone B strictly as a muted high-efficiency video feed.
If you have never live streamed to your YouTube channel before, Google enforces a mandatory one-time 24-hour waiting period to verify your channel for live broadcasts. We recommend enabling live streaming in your YouTube Studio at least one day before your team's first game. Once enabled, StreamVector can provision and start streams instantly.
Your match footage is 100% safe. StreamVector utilizes a dual-pipeline engine: Phone A writes an uncorrupted, broadcast-grade master 1080p MP4 file to local storage continuously, independent of cellular signal. If cellular drops, local recording continues uninterrupted while an automatic exponential backoff system reconnects your YouTube stream as soon as signal returns.
In most gyms, you cannot place a tripod directly in front of the scoreboard. On Phone B, tap the Keystone calibration tool and drag the 4 corner pins to match the four physical corners of the scoreboard. Our Apple Metal GPU shader computes a homographic projection in real-time, converting the skewed trapezoid into a perfectly straight rectangle.
Yes! StreamVector is fully compatible with iPadOS 17.0+. You can use an iPad on the scorer's bench or coaches' table as the Director monitoring station while your iPhones act as field cameras.
